This thread really pulls into question whether Elon is the right person to be leading SpaceX.
@Fab25june @SpaceX Good advice. Ok, we won’t decommission Dragon.

"NASA is fucked." Quote from a senior space official. Kind of hard to disagree.

I dread to think about the state of NASA in around 4 years time if this turns out to be true

A 47% cut to NASA Science. This could mean entire closure of NASA facilities in various states. This seems to shift NASA's sole focus to human exploration. But I don't want American flags on the Moon/Mars if it means giving up the rest of the universe.
If you care about science at NASA, this is royally sucks. https://t.co/mjHH0dZVhG

This would have devastating consequences. Little surprise though considering the actions of the current administration…

Congratulations Firefly!
Just in, our #GhostRiders downlinked another incredible Moon shot following a successful touchdown! Image shows the Moon's surface and Earth on the horizon. Blue Ghost's solar panel, X-band antenna (left), and LEXI payload (right) are also in view. #BGM1

@CSI_Starbase I completely understand. When one of the biggest voices in the Spaceflight community is constantly politicizing things, all he’s really doing is dividing people. The same thing would happen is say Tim Cook or RJ Scaringe or any other CEO made their entire social presence about

This would be incredible…
FCC document notes that Starship Flight 9 (after the upcoming launch) has the option of Ship returning to the launch site for a catch. Although unconfirmed by SpaceX, Flight 9 has the potential of reflying Booster 14, with Ship 35, and both returning to the launch site, with

Is he suggesting an earlier timeframe for its end?
It is time to begin preparations for deorbiting the @Space_Station. It has served its purpose. There is very little incremental utility. Let’s go to Mars.

Also politicising space is only going to alienate large parts of Congress as well as the general population. Spaceflight should be enjoyed and supported by all but if Elon Musk is the face of it, then there’s little hope for bipartisan support.

I do wonder how various SpaceX employees feel that their CEO is attacking astronauts online whilst trying to gain cheap political points at the expense of the truth.

I have no words at this point. This is an *actual* response to a former commander of the ISS… shameful.
