"Knees or trees, either way you're still lynchin' me..." Powerful all the way through. Thank you @AfricanaCarr. Thank you @NickCannon. I'm listening, humbly.
Our Brother @NickCannon just returned from Minneapolis-St. Paul, where he was in the street, shoulder to shoulder with the people. His reflection here places this moment in it's necessary context: https://t.co/lrvUQDE55r

Spent a lot of time at #IDWeek2025 thinking about life as an ID specialist in the USA one year ago compared to now. Summary: Times are tough, but the community and people remain strong. Stay that way, everyone. (Plus can't-miss bonus video.)

At last yearās IDWeek ā the annual meeting of the Infectious Diseases Society of America ā a group of us veterans in the HIV/ID world wrapped up a busy day of symposia, abstracts, and posters with a...

Trump's #Tariffs are being added to our lab supply order costs (for specialized reagents that have no domestic source) at a time when NIH funding is restricted - a double whammy for stressed research labs.

What a disaster for U.S. science. We are losing the futureāand no one benefits from this, really no one. Humankind loses when we stop doing science.
an absolute shame. @harvard cutting PhD admissions "The Organismic and Evolutionary Biology department will shrink its class size by roughly 75 percent to three new Ph.D. students [...] Molecular and Cellular Biology will reduce its figure to four new students, and Chemistry and

@Mollyploofkins And you guys claim "the left" has to tone down the rhetoric? Elon has MILLIONS of followers. Completely irresponsible of him. Kirk did not deserve to be killed, but he was no saint and the treatment he is getting is all political theatre. It's all bullshit.

There it is: admitting theyāre changing vaccine policy to address āconcerns,ā not because of any scientific evidence. ACIPās mandate is to follow data, not public opinion. When you sacrifice evidence-based medicine to appease political constituencies, children pay the price.
ACIP member Dr. Robert Malone: āItās clear that a significant population in United States has significant concerns about vaccine policy and vaccine mandates.ā

I watched the 1st meeting day of RFK Jrās handpicked committee of vaccine advisors that encapsulates the proceedings. It was utterly depressing. 1/

This will be absolutely devastating in the medical field. ~30% residents are international medical graduates & ~10k of 43k residency spots are filled by docs with H1-B visas. Previously the h-1B fee was <$5,000. No hospital will pay a $100k fee for a $55k resident salary.
Trump signs an EO on H-1Bs raising "the fee that companies pay to sponsor H1-B applicants to $100,000"

For us ID doctors, the CDC has been a rock. Data, guidelines, surveillance, travel advice -- all there, vetted by experts, referenced, reliable. Perfect? No. But watching its dismantling now breaks my heart. Some thoughts:

Of all RFK Jr's dangerously wrong opinions - his attack on HPV vaccines is the worst (and that really is saying something) HPV vaccines like Gardasil PREVENT cancer - so effectively that cervical cancer is on the way to ELIMINATION in places like Scotland, Sweden and Australia.

Hey @SyneosHealth AnswerSuite - it seems like it might be a violation of #HIPAA if I were to report patient interactions at this frequency. HIPAA law says clinical encounter dates more specific than year are Protected Health Information, AFAIK. Am I mistaken? #PrivacyMatters
