I think authorial context and intent matters a lot in how we engage with media. On its own the comic is quite funny, but when I know that the author is a homophobe it takes away the humour. If authorial context and intent doesn’t matter to you, I’d say you lack critical thinking.

Children cannot consent because they are too emotionally underdeveloped. Even if we grant that *some* can consent (for the sake of argument), those individuals would be a very small minority. The laws that are put in place are there to protect people. Pedophilia isn’t ok.
