Proud to be part of this @globeandmail project. We partnered with community based journalists and translators to report on a Brampton neighbourhood most impacted by COVID - L6P. Much more to come!
One of the most ambitious projects I've ever worked on at the @globeandmail is LIVE! https://t.co/lHmXthPfWW Back in Feb, during the 2nd wave, I spent some time scrolling over a map of COVID-19 cases in Peel Region and one area popped out: the L6P postal code in north Brampton.

A mob of 200 white ppl threaten Mi'kmaq lobster fishers: RCMP does nothing. A handful of Haudenosaunee defend their land: OPP arrests dozens. Meanwhile, what is never enforced is Canada's own legislation, the treaties Canadian leaders have knowingly signed. Links below:

Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble. #goodtrouble

Regardless of whether #DafonteMiller was or was not breaking into cars, there was nothing that warranted a brutal and vicious beating by an officer and brother (not an officer). The notion that police (+ a random civilian) can carry out “justice” in this way is unacceptable.
Christian Theriault's call reports that there were guys breaking into cars. At one point, Christian Theriault can be heard saying "you picked the wrong cars." https://t.co/EzgHFUqMBu
