Congratulations to all of the people and communities in James/Hudson Bay Mushkegowuk territory on this announcement today! They advocated hard for this! I’m glad the government responded to this long overdue need and that it will be met with funding support.
For far too long our people have been forced to receive health care at the oldest Indian hospital in the country. But today I am hopeful that we are on a good path forward to a new facility. Congratulations to all. Our communities deserve this.
