Months ago I organized https://t.co/bKMWBaVSVj a non partisan initiative. We were there at the beginning of the nation. 250 years later we’re still at it.

'The debate about a united Ireland has increasingly come to discuss the possibility of a continuing Northern Ireland – either temporarily or permanently.' Eh? Seriously, @SJAMcBride? https://t.co/JiVXiICGlB

Leo Varadkar spoke passionately about Irish unity in Philadelphia, while in Dublin Micheál Martin showed no interest. His are the cautious, conservative words of the bank manager. Sooner or later, Irish politicians will have to make a huge political choice https://t.co/WT89mdPb8v

@SuzyJourno Re Alliance members, more now support a UI than NI in the UK but with no overall majority for an outcome. Most members do see the party as neutral, although, perhaps due to the party’s pre-GFA history and strong support for consent in NI, circa 20% see it as slightly more pro-UK

Naomi Long has reversed from her view that Alliance would likely chose a side & campaign during a border poll. She now says it makes more sense for it to remain neutral. The decision Alliance & its voters make will be key on the road (or not) to a republic https://t.co/f1Z30is2z3

With unity or the Union so intrinsic to bread and butter issues, neutrality increasingly hard to justify

The Irish people are very satisfied with their lives, and are among the most satisfied in Europe. Irish people rate their lives as 7.6 out of 10 on average, only slightly behind the Finns who are the happiest in the EU at 7.8. We are lucky to live here 🇮🇪 https://t.co/bYBO6QjUjq

It’s unfair and undemocratic to not allow citizens abroad to have a say. It’s also shortsighted

Excellent news from Belfast with plans to restore #NorthernIreland power-sharing government following DUP's agreement with UK government. Much needed & long overdue, giving democratic voice to all NI communities. Kudos to everyone involved.

Today, the House of Commons passed the Northern Ireland Troubles (Legacy and Reconciliation) Bill, legislation opposed by all five political parties in Northern Ireland, the government of the Republic of Ireland, and many people across the United Kingdom.

UK Govt have unilaterally legislated against wishes of all political parties on this island & more importantly against victims groups. Peace processes only work with partnership & good faith. A backward step. Irish Govt now forced to consider options.

I am disappointed by the news that the Legacy Bill has passed through Westminster. The underlying principles of peace in the Good Friday Agreement are what have allowed us to achieve 25 years of stability on the island of Ireland.
