@gaw101 What a disgraceful, misleading headline! It isn't that 33% drop out, most of these 33% leave school for work, further training or apprenticeships. Political pressure regarding retention to year 12 is deliberately misplaced and contradicts other agendas around school-work.

I understand the sentiment here, but, this is so wrong. We need to stop this martyr thing we have going that we need to run ourselves to the ground in order to help others.

After 44 years teaching, 27 as principal and authored six education books today I was told I can not teach in NSW schools because I haven't paid NESA for their 'support'. I wonder why there is a shortage of teachers?

Teachers work hard, I think most would just like that workload defined clearly.

No plan for year on year reductions, reducing compliance, considering time in lieu.

Labor’s solution, reduce administrative workload by 5 hours. That would be 134%.

I guess this percentage was determined by compressing 48 35h working weeks into 41 term weeks, that is 41 h/wk. 60.1 is 147%.

In their Education for Life plan, NSW Labor @ChrisMinnsMP state “Full-time teachers are working on average 150% of their contracted working hours – or 60.1 hours per week” https://t.co/ZUqqcxRJ85

I got my final letter confirming my separation from the NSW Department of Education yesterday. Not even signed or attributed to a person, let alone the Minister or Secretary. 29 years. Here is the last part:
