Thank you to my colleagues from the Taree, Hastings & Great Lakes networks for taking the time to engage with me during today’s Roundtable at Chatham HS. I appreciated hearing directly from you about the ways the recent flood event has affected our people & school communities.

So Group L is the Public Education Party, in the legislative council. The big ballot paper.

Internet outage because our fibre NBN cable was bent 90o IN THE COMS PIT (by technician?). Technician told me this and guaranteed someone out to fix within 24hrs, same response from Telstra app. Now 36hrs - still nothing and now they claim it is a weather outage - ETA Monday- BS

Hey @telstra, how does someone go about making a complaint regarding your absolute sub-standard service? The "Telstra app" doesn't recognise the word "complaint" (seriously). All my phone calls end up on hold for 30 minutes before I end up with an OS call centre with no idea.

Barnaby Joyce racked up $675,000 in expenses in 3 weeks as drought envoy. He says he sent texts to PM Scott Morrison who blocks FOI requests & refuses to hand over phone records. Retweet if you want to see these texts or a police investigation or both? Your taxes are up in smoke!

COVID and schools: Australia is about to feel the full brunt of its teacher shortage https://t.co/EuST6lhegZ

Australia was already facing a growing teacher shortage before the pandemic. But it's about to get much worse — and we need a national plan, now, write Rachel Wilson and Giuseppe Carabetta.

Clearly our health system is not coping, our supply chains and service industries are not coping. We could have eased our opening up over time with far less impact but now everything is grinding to a halt. But wait, despite all this we think schools can resume normally? Fantasy!

If I seem pissed regarding gov response to COVID it might be because they completely ignored the advice of economists and medical experts and "let it rip" purely for idealogical reasons. Then my 82 yr old father has surgery to remove a growth behind his eye cancelled as a result!

Wife & I looking at ditching @nrmainsurance after almost 30 years. Over 10 months to repair hail damage on my car. Over 5 months for her car and they want it for a month to do it! Have friends already repaired from same storm. Suggestions for a reliable customer centred insurer??

https://t.co/CBkNsukMOD “If we were in Victoria or Queensland, there would be no legal controversy or intimidation of teachers preparing to strike. It is the law in NSW – not the teachers – that is the problem. It is time this anomaly was rectified.”

The teachers’ claims are of relevance to all of us.

Not the whole solution, but it would be a sensible start. Make GENUINE reductions in admin, increase time to do the work we have to do - so we can do it well, increase salary to match other professions - make teaching attractive. Not rocket science, common sense. #MoreThanThanks

Most non-gov schools have finished for the year, their teachers have an extra couple of weeks pupil-free to try to catch up on all the admin, planning and learning that have been piled on our profession in recent years. Why can't the same happen in public schools? #MoreThanThanks

To clarify, NSW is a state and Sydney is a city within that state. I acknowledge what Sydney schools have been going through but announcements that NSW students are returning to school today is misleading when we have been back at school in most regional areas for some time.

Sick of hearing the BS on vaccine hesitancy when this sort of rubbish is going on. How can they effectively give her no reasonable option other than to have AZ vaccine when this goes against their own updated health advice. I had AZ but I am concerned due to her health conditions
