Wow - one of the good guys in the game calls it quits. A shame he’s retiring, but at least we got to see him (briefly!) one more time in the A-League. Congrats on a fantastic playing career, Mitch…pity there weren’t more Socceroos caps…good he’s not being lost to the game….

At what point does the penny drop that for some AL clubs, the only long-term solution is their own stadiums? Doesn’t have to be 50,000 capacity, or a new build. Shared venues never work to football’s benefit. I know it’s not straightforward, but some ambition would be nice.

Late to this, but this statement, along with the reply from Josh Cavallo, poses serious questions of the Reds leadership. A club (or any organisation), is only the sum of its people. Treat them badly (if this is indeed the case), and it’ll invariably come back to haunt you.

Saddened, but not surprised - I thought Ange had probably earned another year to get their league form right after ending the long trophy drought…but that 17th placed finish was always going to count against him. I have no doubt he’ll have some good offers tho. He’ll be back.
Following a review of performances and after significant reflection, the Club can announce that Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties.
