At dinner with my wife and 4 others. I see a young son and daughter with their parents. I ask dad if the kids like cards? The boy says we love Pokémon. I give them packs that I keep in my car. Go to pay our check, waitress says the dad paid for our desserts or apply it to bill❤️

For those that don’t know. The deer I bonded with the most all these years is Doelores. She had two fawns born behind my house. Deerdra and Deerick. This is them following in mommy’s hoof prints. Kids grow up so fast these days 🤣 This never gets old ❤️

1/2 Speechless! Bought a card on eBay. Thanked the woman 4 sending extra cards. Convo started. She liked the cards to my students thing. This huge box with >130 gift bags full of cards showed up. All the cards on the box were in 1 bag! Mets cards were for me (not keeping).

It’s mandatory for 6th graders to read a minimum of 2 books every year for “Battle Books.” 1 girl is on her 8th book 😳 (she likes baseball). I walked in her classroom and gave her packs that amounted to > 100 cards. Teacher: Those all for her? Me: You read books you get cards 👊

Teacher told me her student, that I gave cards to last week, was so excited that he found an Aaron Judge that he keeps it in his lanyard. I asked her to find out what teams he likes. Today I gave him Yankees/Giants and a nice Aaron Judge in a magnetic one touch and a card stand❤️

My dad passed 12 years ago today. This is my favorite piece of memorabilia. Big Al at the 1952 World Series with Jackie, Campy and Gil. Playing baseball and then fast pitch softball was his passion. Loved to flash the leather at 3rd base. Play 2 today dad. See you when I see u ❤️
