Case 1: PDB 2QNC. A DNA Holliday junction in complex with T4 endo IV resolvase. Amazingly AF3 predicts the complex within 1.3A. The protein is spot on although one arm is slightly splayed outwards. Not unexpected as this protein was used in training. Pink-AF3 Green-2QNC

PSA: Many of you may have noticed a website floating around called formatmypaper(dot)com. People rightly noted something was fishy. I dig into what happened here: https://t.co/jGiBVlaTFe

Whoever has appointed @Clarity_BT to @ucl has not used their services. Their website is broken, expensive, misleading, no response to complaints and services miserable at best. Yet, we are forced to use them.

Had a discussion with a colleague about the worst experience in publishing. Mine has to be with @ChemicalScience where editors classify reviewers as senior and with substantiated opinions, while disregarding others. Never again.

My dear friend Keshav Desiraju. passed away this day, four years ago. He was the force behind the Mental Health Act in India and the initiator of all the gutka bans that have/have not been implemented. You’re dearly missed my friend.

@DalrympleWill @michaelgove @michaelgove is what happens when a moderately intelligent individual has too much smoke blown up his backside by people too blinded by tribal thinking. This is bloody brilliant...a burn on an epic scale...and all factual!

Amazed to find @eduroam at GVA. Anyone knows why an international airport would have that? So far the only airport that I have passed through that has it. Any one knows other airports that have eduroam?

Publishing houses make millions, yet their platforms for reviewing are awful. Editorial Manager has to be the worst. What I don’t understand is why do you want me to register every time I get on your platforms @sciencedirect I refuse to engage anymore for reviewring.

Peer Review sections are. Ow my favourite part of the manuscript. Here is a nugget from deep dark editorial world of @NatureComms

The reviewers’ evaluations highlight substantial issues with both the methodology and overall impact of the work. This was conveyed to us without any comments from the reviewers. This is the level of peer reviewing transparency @ChemicalScience.

Not only taking down the Minister but also his lawyer. What a fascinating thread 🧵
In 2022, Nadhim Zahawi’s solicitor sent me a libel threat - and said I wasn’t even allowed to say he’d written to me. The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal ruled that was improper. Now he’s appealing. A 🧵 on why it matters.
