This argument conflates deportation with detention. Judges routinely acknowledge they have no authority to review *deportation* decisions but can review *detention," which turn on other constitutional issues. Many people freed from detention can be -- and often are -- deported.

Of the 5 things that the admin is offering re ICE funding, 3 are a commitment to follow existing federal law. That isn’t a “concession to Democrats.” Hilariously and alarmingly the last bullet point is a commitment to NOT DEPORT AMERICANS which is already illegal.
