Never thought I'd read a treatise on industrial policy that cites Lenin, Stalin, Mazzucato, and Peter B. Evans. The international edition of Wenhua Zongheng published by @tri_continental is trying to bring such unique Chinese scholarship to the world.

Even though China is now the largest contributor to international patent applications, the reality is that most patent payments go to the Global North. Many of the foundational technologies of modern industry are still basically monopolised by the Global North.
