Apparently a benefit of a WHO is the ability to utilise private finance for rebuilds or refurbishment whilst the original Trust faces no risk. PFI showed us all how well that works..

New Rabbit hole - NHS Wholly Owned Subsidiaries NHS Trust sets up a private company to run its facilities services. Staff are no longer classed as being employed by the NHS so agenda for change is no longer applicable

Just curious - will Starmer be sacking ministers and making decisions about their pay based on their success? Seems like it would be fair, given that this is what they plan to do to NHS bosses.

5️⃣ What good is a performative left? Our job is to fight fascism in the communities it's taking hold of. That means a principled, tough liberalism on crime, migration and national pride - the American left's obsessions and actions just handed ammo to Trump in his battlegrounds.

4️⃣ Labour needs to redefine economic delivery: if we don't enhance people's economic security, real wages, personal security and the prospects of their kids - they will turn to the chimeric solutions of the far right....

2️⃣ The UK needs to become the European leader of NATO, and all European countries need to hike spending on defence and democratic resilience. America is a permanently unreliable ally in this century

Trump's apparent victory has 5 big implications for the UK: 🧵 1️⃣ It can happen here. He will back Farage, the Musk propaganda machine will crank up against Labour; the Tories will remould themselves into Trump-lite Islamophobes ...

Trump wins the White House. Again. The Democrats blew it. Again. A depressing yet predictable result.

My last shift today at Stockport. It's been amazing - I've learnt & experienced so much and met so many great people. The team strives to make the patient experience a positive one whilst pushing to improve and lead on what's expected of hospital catering. I'll miss you all xx

The NHS can’t survive on reform alone. It needs proper funding, not privatisation.
