One of the things I want to see us move away from is calling a person "diverse". A person isn't diverse, groups are. When you call someone diverse, you position "one group (white, male Americans) as the default, and everyone else as the Other” #usfdeicert.

I’ve been feeling this one a lot lately phew.
Telling people that I'm taking a break from working has reminded me how foreign the idea of resting can be in the Black community. As well as openly admitting you're tired and that you need a break. These things have often not been options for us.
