Getting an apartment requires a $10k down-payment (which is called key money there) and rent is close to $800 a month for a decent

You better hope you don't have a shady landlord, either. They will nickel and dime you once your lease comes up. If you're a foreigner, better make sure you have an English-speaking Korean friend you trust to help. Not all landlords rent to foreigners.
