Wow! What a persuasive breed of brethren I have. More govt funds for their own welfare, insurance and all. If only more hapless clients were insured against errant lawyers who allegedly "advocate" on their behalf!

After holding several rounds of discussions with various stakeholders, the Law Ministry is ready to launch a cohesive insurance scheme for lawyers.

6 strikes at various NLU's in the last two years! A new phase in Indian legal education? Where students do not shy of shaking up the system. To protest high fees, arbitrary administrations, shameless sexism and all!
theprint.in
At least 6 National Law University campuses have seen demonstrations in past 2 years. The latest was NLU, Odisha, where an indefinite protest began Wednesday.

For the last two days , all the students have been sitting on protest in adverse climatic conditions but still, the administration has been completely apathetic in meeting satisfactorily even any one of them. @SBAnluo #NLUOprotest

There is no better feeling than when #IDIAScholars make us #proud. Sandeep has cracked the Company Secretary Foundation course #examination with an All India Rank 10 and rank 1 in Bhopal. Congratulations to him! We wish him all the best. #law #education #inclusion #diversity

The Bad Boy of Buddhism! One of the very first. You have to admire his forthrightness though! Here is his radically risqué approach to worldliness (and "other-wordliness"), in verse: "I am happy that I am a free Yogi. So I grow mo… https://t.co/nxELDuGVml

Great lesson in there! Branding is key. “Make in India” sounds cool. So clearly should have worked and made India more innovative in this short time. Time to celebrate our rise in these “rigorous” rankings!
Programs and initiatives like @makeinindia, @_DigitalIndia have made #India outperform on innovation relative to GDP ~ Francis Gurry, Director General, @WIPO at the #GII2019 Curtain Raiser @DIPPGOI

Sigh! If only some of our counsels extended this courtesy to clients and apologised for not showing up.
Sr. Adv. Mukul Rohatgi first in queue for mentioning "I am not here to mention any matter but to apologise for not coming for Karnataka matter yesterday", says Rohatgi. "That was yesterday, today is a new day", says CJI. @barandbench

Will we extend the logic to humans as well? No crossing between the "indigenous" and the "exotic"? https://t.co/pCfBK3y7lY

Whooa! One more dent into the "traditional" transactional treasury of law firms! Will more in-house teams handle such transactions and stop outsourcing them to law firms?

"The real weapons of mass destruction are the hardened hearts of humanity!” What a profoundly potent line! From one of my favourite poets: the legendary Leonard Cohen! https://t.co/kFdOaYDZ5q

Whoa! Law sneaks an edge over medicine. Who would have thought? My dad didn’t speak to me for almost a year for picking law against medicine and engineering.
"I studied law after that and have been practicing law since then, which not only offers better pay but also has less burden. The effort that goes into studying medicine and becoming a doctor is not rewarding, neither by money nor by appreciation,” she said

What rubbish! In my limited experience with courts, very few read. And fewer still who read “every word”! If they actually read every word, they’d have cut short cumbersome counsels habituated to longwinded lectures on the law. And we wouldn’t have suffered this kind of pendency!
#CourtroomExchange CJI Ranjan Gogoi: Judges don't come without reading the papers; every word, every sentence is read. It may be worth it, may not be worth it, but it is read. Justice Rohinton Nariman - It is often not worth it. (Everyone laughs)
