Anecdotally, women (or it least myself and the women I know) have a much stronger “thirst” for adventure than the men, who have a greater desire to work 24/7 and stay in one location. I’m a very ambitious, work-oriented person, but I have to work hard to suppress my opposing.

Which is more plausible: a) that starvation, exploitation and tyranny cause masses to behave in ways that are cruel and irrational, or b) that individuals become part of cruel, retarded, poor masses because they innately possess those qualities?.

I’m an Australian spending some time in the UK + Western Europe who also lived in the U.S. for two years and I’m bamboozled by this opinion. The U.S. has the highest salaries but its major cities lose on every other QoL metric (safety, green space, walkability, public amenities).
It’s really shocking visiting the UK. I don’t know what I expected but what I found is what could be at best described as a developing country.
