These new trees don’t just beautify our neighborhoods; they also are an essential component of the City’s ecosystem & provide environmental and social benefits – from fresher air to more cooling shade. We also hosted our yearly Arbor Day fair at the Civic Center Secondary School.

In 1965, ground was broken for the iconic Dragon Gateway to Chinatown. Annually, we maintain its cleanliness for Lunar New Year events like this Saturday's Chinese New Year Parade. 🐍 Just a fact from our nifty 125-year history timeline! Check it out: https://t.co/79VYC2H4jo

Our crews, using heavy machinery and muscle power, removed about 400 cubic yards of rock & dirt after storm-related landslide at Sansome & Union streets Tuesday night. Our engineers assessed & determined the hillside there poses no immediate threats to people or property.

By the end of the 19th century, a modest settlement on a windswept peninsula had blossomed into a major city. SF needed a dedicated body to construct and maintain its streets, design its buildings and engineer its pipes and sewers. This is our story. https://t.co/80MjGLQQr5

Public Works crews touched up the paint on the three-color decorative dragon lamp posts along Grant Avenue in Chinatown for the Lunar New Year holiday season, which draws big crowds to the historic neighborhood for a panoply of shopping, eating and cultural festivities.
