My office’s independent contract review is an essential deterrent to waste, fraud & abuse in the state’s procurement process. I applaud @GovKathyHochul's decision to sign the legislation & thank @senatorERM and @kenzebrowski_ny for sponsoring the bill.

Thanks to this new law, policies providing coverage for Rx drugs must now have a process for insured individuals to immediately obtain an additional 30-day supply during a declared disaster. This change well help protect the safety and wellbeing of New Yorkers for years to come.

Before a disaster strikes, people are often advised to stock up on important supplies including OTC and Rx medication that they might need but inflexible policies have left many NYers unableto get additional supplies of critical prescription medication even in an emergency. 🧵

Thank you to @GovKathyHochul for signing my bill S4856 ensuring that anyone who relies on critical prescription medication has one less thing to worry about when preparing for a disaster. Thanks also to @NYAssemblyCruz for carrying this legislation in the Assembly. 🧵

Every season @MOWROCKLAND makes sure our neighbors have safe nourishing meals. That's why I fought successfully to secure $35,000 in state funding in the 2022-23 state budget to support the inspiring work of this organization that does critical work to help our seniors.

I just voted against raising legislator salaries to $142K/yr. Inflation hit everyone, and legislators increasing their pay when people are feeling the pain of economic pressure doesn’t feel right. If this were the right thing to do, we could have handled it during regular session

Volunteer first responders have served Rockland for more than a century and a half, and it's time we do more than say thank you. This legislation gives local govts the power to lower the taxes of volunteers—supporting volunteers of today and volunteer companies for the future.
