Just FYI: there is no ethical way to use the current crop of LLMs which are trained on stolen content ( https://t.co/8B1vr82VDo) and abusive scraping ( https://t.co/mBxIcBYA9M). The better the product of those LLMs the more stuff they've stolen to train on.

LLM scrapers are taking down FOSS projects' infrastructure, and it's getting worse.

FYI, if you fancy some easy trolling, boomer terf men are all over Twitter and have no idea how the internet works. I assume they would have learned by now if their toxic opinions (or, in one dude's case, doing time for murder!) hadn't alienated everyone they know under 40.

Twitter is definitely a safe place to be, there's no reason to have concerns about its owner being a Nazi and deliberately working to influence public opinion to get fascists elected. I'm sure this guy is just lying.

I mean, I always feel the list description made my point for me, but apparently it makes me a ‘soy boy’ (I don’t know what that means, but it feels like something amateur nazis online call people) and my hard drive should be ‘checked’. (Don’t worry, I have SMART monitoring.)

Hi makers local to Edinburgh/Fife, I still have this 3d printer free to a good/indifferent home. It's been a good workhorse printer for me, just needs a bit of care to get back into use - or use it for bits for some other fun project.

Dear local people I know who still use Twitter, I fucked my 3d printer so hard I had to buy a new one, so I'm giving away the old broken one. It's only a _bit_ broken, so someone smarter than me could probably fix it. Details here:

On the topic of my old 3d printer: does anyone want it? It's a Creality CR-6 SE, worked perfectly until I fucked the hot end. It'll need a new hot end (~£50-60) and Bowden tube (< £10) if you want it...

(Or, alternatively, if anyone has any ideas on how better to market this kind of work or find clients, I'd welcome that too. I'm far better at server stuff than I am marketing and self-promotion!)

Hello Twitter, I don't do you much these days. But I've got contract availability of ~1 day a week, and I wrote up on LinkedIn what I'm good at, if anyone's interested: https://t.co/62e7daa5As Feel free to contact me here, email, LinkedIn, form on my website, carrier pigeon...

I'm never entirely sure how to use LinkedIn, but looking for work would seem to be the ideal use case for this place, and so: Hey all, I'm currently available for ~1 day a week of contract sysadmin...

I’m not really doing Twitter any more, but it was worth logging in this weekend just to see all the fucking transphobic bigots trying to square the circle of hating Doctor Who for being ‘woke’ while claiming to be fans. Doctor Who, like Trek, was *always* ‘woke’, for decades!

The public vote here appears to be First Past the Post which is entirely inadequate for picking a single winner out of a field this broad. I am willing to partner and help run an STV or Borda Count election next time for the low, low price of getting to clap aw the dugs entered.

Hey, @OXFOBike, top tip: buying lists of email addresses from spammers really doesn't make you look like a serious and trustworthy project. I'll be reporting you to Indiegogo.

I didn’t realise it at the time, but this is the face of a cat that has just puked on my blanket on my bed.

JK ROWLING WROTE A POLISH PERSON AND I'M ABSOLUTELY DEAD - she's a cleaner (of course) - she's sexy and seductive (yeah) - she has "Slavic eyes" (sksksksk) - she's called LECHSINKA (she really tried) - she doesn't understand what "detective" means (it's "detektyw" in Polish) 🤣

To follow up on this, the best hotel in Blackpool is actually a Travelodge next to the Pleasure Beach. All the 'nice' hotels have tiny beds and/or look like they haven't been updated since the last time we had a King.

I'm getting a new car! :D And I'm also getting @star_brow a weekend break to Blackpool for her birthday, since I need to collect the thing from nearby. Anyone any recommended hotels in Blackpool? (Or, indeed, Preston?)

I was pickpocketed in Amsterdam, but the only things they lifted were some CYRILLIC LETTER MULTIOCULAR O stickers and a used boarding pass. He glanced at them and handed it all back https://t.co/WX4qpC4S5B

When I moved to Scotland, I was against Scottish independence. Eighteen years later, my attitude can be summed up as "bring it on."

I'm not saying that the NHS is bad, or that this nonsense from Starmer is reasonable, but things can go wrong in all sorts of depressing ways. The NHS local to my mum was definitely less well funded than in Fife, and as a result no one really cared much any more. All ground down.

The only symptom of my mum's cancer was back pain. Her GP referred her to a physio, who in turn wrote a letter saying it was all in her head. Took an intervention from a different doctor to get her to a hospital, even then they treated her like shit.

The only symptom of my uncles pancreatic cancer was persistent upper back pain. His GP referred him to the correct service because they knew what else to ask. Some use physio would have been. This is so depressing to read.
