New data: Long hours (≥60 per week) & extended shifts (≥24 hours) pose a danger to patient safety & to residents. The combination has a synergistic effect, amplifying medical errors, car crashes, and needle sticks. It’s time to rethink the way we’ve always done things.

These point of care tests should be easily accessible in the community at local clinics/pharmacies. Not drive through only! Taking transit/car share to acquire a test is as absurd as the number of centres.

And if you don't have a vehicle I guess you can just go screw yourself. Few testing sites, spaced so far apart asymmetrically places a greater burden on low income and marginalized groups to access testing. A group performing the very essential services we aim to protect.

It is absolutely absurd and a gross oversight to have so few testing centres in the Greater Vancouver Area. These are the ONLY places to get a RAT in the city.

@MedCouncilCan @CPSA_CA An organization straining to find relevance, digging through reams and reams of administrative data to find something, anything to convince us and themselves that in 🇨🇦 in 2021, it is still needed. This is truly and simply, just sad.

Thankful for the national collaboration that resulted in this publication by @JournalofGME! By the numbers: 12 (!) REB exemptions, 15 Canadian EM programs, 68 residents, & 9,842 EPA observations = a national evaluation of the @Royal_College EM CBD program! What did we find? 1/10

Huge ball of mixed terror and excitement right now (one more than the other, not saying which), but stoked to have these two amazing people as co-residents for the next 5 years! And all the incredible upper years showing us the ropes helps as well 🤗

3. Failed to respond to the redundancy of this examination series in light of rigorous medical school accreditation, CBME in residency, and RCPSC/CFPC exams. (7/7)

The @MedCouncilCan has: 1. Enormously failed to transparently communicate and has been largely dismissive of our concerns. 2. Failed to deliver a standardized process, calling into question the validity of this exam. (6/7)

3) Medical graduates relentlessly forced to offer proof of their exam accommodations, often cutting into their writing time, defeating the very purpose of accommodations. MCC instilling a sense of fear by "escalating situations" and demanding compliance. (5/7)
