Surely at this point we should just stop using Javascript:

As this reply suggests this is likely a text substitution flub: https://t.co/9okUvtC468 It's nearly 2026 and we still can't get simple things like this right.

That extra space is totally a dark pattern to make you think it's a fake email and ignore it (this is a 100% real email)

The cognitive dissonance between these two statements is incredible: "Why does software suck so much now?" "We should use JavaScript everywhere."

Thank god I implemented it in OCaml and can't suffer those issues. No joke, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if something like this were remotely possible in production

The responses to stupid bugs from dynamic typing are the programming equivalent of the "'No Way to Prevent This,' Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens" Onion story.

Looks a lot like that latest Cloudflare outage would've been prevented by static typing: https://t.co/Yrd7DG8Cb2 Weird how this wont start conversations about this kind of thing but the smallest issue with any statically typed language is treated as the end of days...

Is there any more useless and wasteful invention, the human race has produced, than bottled water? We take an otherwise widely available resource, extract it from often constrained sources, put it in a plastic bottle and then ship it huge distances.

The ffmpeg-rs colored cat (@sampocino) is right: every step toward Rust is a step toward typefuckery that ultimately leads to Haskell. All roads lead to Haskell. Thank you for the donation.

SteamOS/Linux increasingly outperforms windows in gaming. AMD drivers outperform NV in Linux. Thus the legendary AMD RX9000 series dominates RTX5 per dollar even more in Linux. No wonder Valve and Sony stick with AMD chips exclusively. 9070 XT - $550 5090 - $2,900 5080 - $1,000

Sadly this is 💯 correct. The US under Trump is not a reliable ally. Europe needs to grasp this and quickly. Or they can continue in perpetuity the sycophantic desperate groveling and sacrificing all their values (see the NATO SecGen, who does this quite remarkably)

I said this in August at an event in Stockholm alongside @GLandsbergis. Gasps, horror, denial. Europe should play for time, buy what it needs from the U.S., and mitigate these crises as best it can, but act as if this were true and plan accordingly.

I kinda wish the term "AI" wouldn't be used anymore. Might as well just say "computer powered" because it's too broad a phrasing. Plus for a lot of people it just means a LLM.
