Elbow grease got us to around 3 m depth / in a previous attempt I got to 1.25 m (1500 yrs BP) - many unknown tephras in the deeper core - can’t wait to get them on the probe!.
Out and about in Tonga looking for more paleo eruption deposits 🌋 in the process our very unique way of coring has led us to deeper material than ever before💪🏼
