A lot of comments complain that I used “disabled people” instead of “people with disabilities,” but identity-first language is a preference for many & disabled isn’t a bad word. I asked everyone I interviewed what they preferred to be called & they all said “disabled person.”
It’s a small thing, I realize, but even the fact that identity-first language is in @AmandaMoMorris’s piece’s headline shows a little bit of newsroom buy in.
