Small, but if the effect size is large, small can still be important. One of the first studies that shows large benefits for quality of life and patient reported outcomes for patients with IPF. Crossover, randomized trial with well done objective and subjective cough measures.
āIn this short-term crossover trial, [nalbuphine extended-release tablets] reduced cough in individuals with [idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis]. Larger and longer trials are needed to assess the impact on cough versus drug adverse effects.ā. #RCT #PulmCC #RespEd @TobyMMaher.

No better pulmonary physiology teacher than Rick Albert, always kind of grumpy, but always insightful. When I was an intern in 2013 he was chair at DH, he came to every single noon report that year, he was always so concerned about the respiratory rate! Learned a ton.
Dr Albert giving a very special lecture āMusings from 50 Years as a Pulmonary and Critical Care Docā. Not the ski pole as a pointer šš
