Constraint programming is a wonderful (and maybe a bit underappreciated) tool. You can easily develop solutions to complicated combinatorial problems. But the entry barrier is quite high. I've started a @minizinc repository at https://t.co/S3wLC3xIEc

@Noahpinion No. The research arm of Bell Labs was never about moonshots. It was about hiring the best scientists into small departments (typically 5 to 15 people) and giving them resources and a *lot* of freedom to work on what *they* deemed most promising. That's how you get breakthroughs.

We highlight the success of data-centric techniques like confident learning in small-data manufacturing scenarios, surpassing excessive hyperparameter tuning on the model side. Additionally, we emphasize the importance of goal prioritization to guide ML models' error types.

I was really impressed with the students' presentations! Working on problems they actually care with practical solvers accessed from @minizinc seems to be a good format! We've seen booth allocation (packing), vehicle routing, workforce scheduling with WFH-regulation. Great job!
