“So it’s odd, if you think about it, that we’ve worked so hard to think about how students become graduates – but haven’t thought nearly so hard about how entrants become students.” Definitely need to re-conceptualise the well-intentioned ‘welcome week’ which implies ‘job done’✔️.

At a work away day (ugh) yesterday, I sat at a table with a group of our PhD students for one of the tasks. We were asked to talk about examples of best practice in our teaching and I think our table went in a very different direction to the others. 🧵.
