We’re very excited to see that circular infrastructure materials from local company @AeroAggregates will be such an important part of the I-95 rebuild. #circulareconomy
Aero Aggregates of North America, based in Delco, turns glass into a lightweight, engineered gravel. It's the same material contractors will rely on to rebuild the damaged section of Interstate 95.

It is amazing that a highway collapsed, and no one expects to hear from our mayor today.

Climate-related disruptions that impact things like air quality and other outdoor environmental conditions are going to get worse—not better—and we need to be making a plan (yesterday) for how we’re going to protect our workers from these dangerous conditions.

I’m taking bets on how long @PhilaStreets will use air quality as an excuse for collection disruptions beyond when it’s ACTUALLY still an issue. Setting the over/under at a month. Also, can we please discuss why sanitation workers don’t have proper PPE for stuff like this?

Great piece in @thephilacitizen from @ellisonreport asking some very real and important questions about the future of our city. We should’ve prioritized these issues years ago. Will the next mayor finally do it?

Tune in to @onwurd this morning at 11:20 to hear our Director of Policy & Engagement @NicEsposito1 discuss Philly’s junkyard fires with @ellisonreport on @ecowurd. Junkyards are an important part of our #circulareconomy infrastructure, but they must be properly regulated.

Great #climate #resilience research panel at @GreenBldgUnited Symposium. @ellisonreport speaks to the need to center Black and brown voices & experience in resilience work: “We have to avoid a situation where we have climate resilience haves and climate resilience have-nots.”

Yes, this. Haulers are often the ones who are the arbiters of what happens to the materials being removed from our built environment. They are an integral part of the #circulareconomy. They should absolutely have a seat at the table.
Taneesha Maxwell of T Maxwell Junk Removal talks about the importance of engaging small-scale haulers in policy conversations to help reduce #illegaldumping through affordable C&D recycling options.

Loving this rockstar @GreenBldgUnited Symposium panel moderated by @lindsey_walaski about #climate #policy in Philly. My takeaway: we need to get WAAAY more serious about setting aggressive climate goals & backing them up with real policy & programs.

Love seeing these great numbers from @philaenergy on Built to Last’s pilot outcomes. As @EnergyPHL rightly points out, $40k for stabilizing a home is a steal, especially when compared to the cost of building new affordable housing—and you are not displacing families.

Love seeing @Philly_Surge getting great press! We are so lucky to have a women’s pro ultimate team in Philly now. Yet another reason to @PreserveEdgely—these women should continue to have a place to practice in the city.

All of this is 100% accurate, and I will keep screaming into the void about this until someone (next mayor, I’m looking at you) does something about it. I have one business outside the city and one business (and one non-profit) inside the city. Guess which one is easiest to run.
If I was to give advice to young local entrepreneurs, it would be: go somewhere else. The city government here hates you and will pull out every stop to see you fail. Talk to ANY small biz owner in Philly and ask if the city helps or hurts them. 100% will say hurts them. 100%.

I like everything about this assessment except that I have no desire to ever shop at Brown’s supermarkets.
Maybe it’s best said that, as an electorate, we’re not sure who we want as mayor. We might love to live in the city Gym envisions but have it managed by Rhynhart with advice from Domb and Parker making the politics work to get things done (while shopping at Brown’s supermarkets).

That’s a lot of undecideds left to break for someone. It may be a statistical 5-way tie, but I don’t see Jeff Brown turning his downward slide around, so I think it’s probably more likely among the top 4. Glad to see the second choice numbers (see 🧵). They’re interesting.
There is finally an independent poll in the Philadelphia mayoral race and it’s basically a 5-way statistical tie. Top three: Rhynhart (18%), Parker (17%), Gym (15%). Rhynhart wins in a ranked choice simulation. @JuliaTerruso & @anna_orso with details: https://t.co/y3Hs2fLjkZ
