Prior to 1917, Russia was a feudal state with almost no industrial capacity and 90% of the population being peasants (not workers, PEASANTS). If anything it’s enormously impressive that a few decades later it jumped to “just” 43% of the GDP of the richest country on earth.
Capitalism obviously, obviously makes people richer. The USSR achieved just 43% of US GDP per capita despite having both more people and more natural resources. China got rich only after Deng made capitalist reforms. Come on.
