The problem with this is the NBA already does prohibit gambling on team flights and in locker rooms. If that hasn't stopped guys from going broke, more restrictions probably won't prevent people from accessing player props.

Eric Earnest (also named in the Terry Rozier & Damon Jones case) allegedly passed info from Billups on to bettor Marves Fairley (tied to the Jontay Porter probe & a separate NCAA basketball probe). Meanwhile alleged co-conspirator Shane Hennen is named in all 3 cases.

Federal indictment alleges Billups told an associate the Blazers would “tank” a March 2023 game vs. the Bulls before injury news was public. $100K+ hit books before the line moved +2.5 → +7.5. Blazers lost 124–96. 6 players, incl. top 4 scorers, sat out w/ these injuries.

Today's sports rigging and illegal poker ring indictments do NOT involve college basketball in any way, per DOJ. Earlier this week ESPN reported a federal probe into NCAA basketball match-fixing at small conference schools.
