Heartbroken for Sandy Alcantara. Gave it all he had. 600+ innings & 90 starts the past 3 seasons. It just caught up with him. A truly irreplaceable player in the sport.
162 MLB games is very much on the table from people I spoke with. Regular season being played out through October. Wildest of all scenarios I heard having the World Series played at a neutral site - like Marlins Park in Miami.
Miami Marlins are closing in on a 5 year contract extension with Pitcher Sandy Alcantara. Deal per sources will be North of 55 million dollars guaranteed.
Still trying to process Sandy driving from Weston to the Miami airport to pick up Eury. On his day off. NL Cy Young Award Winner picking a 20 year old prospect up at the airport. Just a special person.
I’m so disappointed beyond words for Sandy. I love history and ceremony more than anyone but this is complete horse 💩. Once in a lifetime chance missed.
Waiting to hear if the 2020 MLB season has been cancelled. Nothing definitive yet. “In jeopardy” seems to be the most texted term to me in the last 30 minutes.
The Miami Marlins have clinched a berth in the 2023 MLB Postseason. It is their first postseason appearance in a full 162 game season since 2003. They did it.
A.J. Puk has been the Marlins best story to come out of the Spring. Their idea to stretch him out to start may potentially save the rotation to start the season. He threw just 56 innings in 2023. 15-20 starts & 120 IP could be a reasonable workload goal in 2024.

A couple of years ago Marlins Owner Bruce Sherman told reporters in Sprig Training unsolicited if the club was in the postseason hunt, the team would make trades, add payroll & go for it. True to his word, the deals did in fact put them over the top and in.

Source : Cardinals offer to Marlins as I previously reported, is centered around P Sandy Alcantara. I'm now told STL has also offered more money than SF in their deal.
Marcell Ozuna was the most fan friendly, media friendly (English & Spanish) member of the Marlins. Will be missed here in South Florida. Good Luck Ozo.
I’m not sure inviting Mets fans to the park this week is gonna do the trick. So, new plan ! Come watch the Braves celebration LIVE on the field after winning the NL East !
Marlins win again tonight against the Red Sox 6-2 and are surging toward the All-Star Break. Feels like this is getting close to an all-in season for Miami. This is as good as it’s been in a really long time.
Sources indicate the Miami Marlins and Pitcher Sandy Alcantara are in agreement on a 5 year 56 million dollar contract extension. Deal is pending a physical, though club has not confirmed yet.

Sources indicate the Braves have a strong offer on the table for Marlins All Star Catcher J.T. Realmuto. MIA may prefer him dealt outside of NL East, but at this point team is operating as though a trade is likely to happen.

Marlins win the wildest game they have played in this season. 9-8 over the Phillies in 12 innings. Jake Burger and Josh Bell were on base a combined 9 times in their debut. Other things happened. Maybe watch it again for those details if you have 4+ hours.
Marlins Second Baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr is not in today’s starting lineup. He has chosen to take to social media to express his displeasure with this by engaging in series of retweets regarding not playing.
Pablo López is one of the kindest humans to ever wear a Marlins uniform. Just an incredibly genuine, down to earth man who wears a permanent smile. He will be missed tremendously.

Miami Marlins have hired former big leaguer and Manager Gabe Kapler to the Front Office, per sources. He will be Assistant General Manager, under Peter Bendix.
This is an absolute embarrassment to even suggest the Marlins can or should play baseball right now and more embarrassing to disrespect these young men on the club who are just doing their best to live out their dreams under these circumstances.
