I am thrilled that Dave and @sportstalkmatt developed their following, and that I got to take part in it in some small way. Most of all, I am so happy that I got to have Dave in my life, even though it was too brief. As you get older, you realize that you need to take those wins.

He forgot more about lines, totals, and props than I’ll ever know, and I assure you, I’m ok with that fact - he taught me more than he was obligated to. And, gave me the best Vegas sportsbook tours known to man!!!

When I came to Vegas, I broke bread with him and his family at their favorite local spot and got ‘blamed’ for them having to get a dog, because my family’s dog pics were too cute for them to hold off on getting one. I hope they know that they can lean on me whenever they need to.

Covering the NFL Draft, on his home turf, getting to see him in his element, was so exciting for all of us. The fact that we were both die-hard Steelers fans was a bonus.

When I lost both my parents earlier this year, I would call Dave to chat, as he had been through it with his dad years before. His joy, which all of you got to see on camera, was genuine; he loved being a part of it.

He called me ‘Michael’ in jest because no one calls me that, so I called him ‘David’. We shared texts and calls about work in this wild industry, as well as family celebrations and life challenges.

@OppositePicks and I did our best on Sunday to honor him here, but I wanted to take a bigger swing on here in this thread. As I mentioned in a previous post, it is rare to find deeper friendships later in life, but Dave was one of those people for me.
