Hard to process this. George helped me understand complex game systems with a patient and friendly attitude. He made games consistently since he was a kid, just like me, which always inspires me to follow his footsteps. We'll miss you, it's been an honor.
George Mawle, a former gameplay engineer at Sony Santa Monica who was described as one of the "fathers" of God of War's Leviathan Axe, passed away on September 2.

I love that game dev is highly interdisciplinary! The GoWR wolfsled intro (freya chase) took a ~50 person team of immense and varied skill. 🐺🐺🛷 On the indie scale, I bounce between mindsets and seek a range of feedback.
Watch this before pursuing a career in game development. I don't think I could do it 😂
