What an amazing turnout for our first ever First Pitch Dinner! We are grateful to our baseball parents & boosters for all aspects of planning and preparation it took. Thankful for our young men that wear the GC uniform for being more than willing to serve our community.

Don’t like ur HS coach, transfer! Don’t like ur JUCO coach, transfer! Don’t play enough at a school, transfer! Don’t like ur travel team, find a new one! Don’t like ur role, quit! What on God's green earth are we teaching our kids? Stop it! Be resilient, plant roots, and fight.

Players: You WILL fail. A lot. Don't get used to it, but don't allow it to ruin the next opportunity. You can get recruited off of how you fail. Coaches will have you for 4yr they want to see you fail & see who you are! How do you respond? Do you fold? Or do you adjust & compete?

Playing with energy...Is NOT being a cheerleader in the dugout! It IS, backing up bases, running balls out, taking hard turns, taking the extra base, communicating on the field, breaking up double plays and being locked in, focused, motivated and DETERMINED!

Things you can control in games: • Effort • Attitude • Self-talk • Attention • Execution Things you can’t control in games: • Winning • Refs • Fans • Your opponent • Bad luck • Weather • The past/future To play your best, focus only on what you can control.

Being a great teammate is supporting your teammates when they fail/struggle in games/practice and celebrating their successes! It does not require supporting teammates that are lazy/immature and unwilling to sacrifice for the team. Everyone on a TEAM has a RESPONSIBLITY to TEAM!
