Young players: get around successful people in baseball to learn from them. Find a way to chat w/someone who has accomplished something you want to accomplish. Hanging around guys who complain about their genes & have never thrown >75mph? Expect to be a guy who throws 75mph, too.

A suggestion for high school baseball players: take the money you're going to blow on fall/winter showcases & instead spend on food, training, books, & charity. If anything is left over, buy lottery tickets, which still have a higher return-on-investment than Nov-Feb showcases.

Had a conversation with a college guy and he was describing how weak some of the hitters were. Noticing there wasn’t any juice or hard hit contact. Said he can’t believe they could still play at this level. He compared a weak hitter to a toddler shooting a 50cal. rifle. No chance
