Scenes like these make me sad, because attempting to do this in 2025 would probably be dismissed by most producers and executives as “too costly” but are we actually saving by losing out on such fun movie magic?.
The iconic “bookshelf domino” scene from The Mummy (1999) was filmed in one take. It involved 12,000 books and any mistake would have required a full day to reset and reshoot.
