"The job cuts coincide with the debut of a $6.4 million, state-of-the-art studio at WBEZ’s Navy Pier office and follows a double-digit-percentage pay increase for Chicago Public Media’s top executive."

Parlor Pizza sat customers of color in areas dubbed "rejection sections" and worked staff without pay, former employees allege.
Parlor has denied the allegations: "We will not accept even the slightest insinuation that we would have such a racist policy."

Yesterday I stopped into Duk's to chat with longtime manager Carol Chavez about the changes coming to the iconic West Town hot dog stand. Not sure you can get more Chicago than Carol -- totally friendly, brusque, no bullshit heart of gold. Thankfully, she'll be sticking around.

It's shocking and disgusting to me that so many people's first response to this story is to question why women stopped to give a man directions, not that this guy has been repeatedly harassing and masturbating in front of women for months and has yet to be caught
At least two more women have been attacked in the weeks since police warned Wicker Park and West Town residents about a man who is sexually harassing women in the area. He asks women for directions or to use their phone, then masturbates.

To sum this up: 13k additional ballots will be counted today. There were no newly "found" ballots, according to the Board of Elections, just a misreporting of how many ballots were received by Election Day. All of those ballots are already reflected in the current vote total.
This morning, the Board met with attorneys from both campaigns for Democratic candidates for Cook County State’s Attorney and all parties agreed that ballot counting and ballot signature verification would continue today with poll watchers present for all steps of the process. 🧵

“No way in the world did anybody ever dream that 50 years later, we’d still be together.”
Mayor Johnson just ordered the gallery cleared after interruptions from the crowd. He had repeatedly admonished members of the public to respect decorum.
Sgt. At Arms now demaning people "exit the room."
Mayor on Dorval Carter:
“It’s my job to determine the leadership of the CTA, that is my job."
“Right now he is still employed,” Johnson said. “And again I don't discuss personnel details publicly.”
