This is big news - I think it's great that courts are holding companies accountable for copyright violations. Given the ruling that training on data was lawfully acquired is fair use it's an important signal that big well-capitalized tech companies should pay for the data they.
Anthropic could be bankrupted within the next few months, thanks to last week's barely covered legal ruling, which exposes the AI startup to billions to hundreds of billions in damages for its use of pirated, copyright-protected works.

I'm glad to see the emphasis on AI safety. But to be clear we don't know how to build AGI yet (there's lot of speculation about what are the gaps and timelines to get there). And we definitely don't know how to make it safe. Long before AGI models are reward hacking, snitching,.
AGI, the holy grail of AI development, masters any cognitive task a human can do, learns across domains, and improves itself. And the core building blocks are already here. But when systems self-improve, even 1% misalignment = P(doom) 💀. Let's make sure we get it right. 🧵

Although I agree that as xAI is developing a frontier model they should be visible in doing a lot more for safety as noted by Samuel:.
xAI launched Grok 4 without any documentation of their safety testing. This is reckless and breaks with industry best practices followed by other major AI labs. If xAI is going to be a frontier AI developer, they should act like one. 🧵.

As more feedback comes in, it's clear that Grok 4 is a lot more capable than Grok 3. We see it as especially powerful in building DeFi agents that tap into the latest news with deep analysis. Our AlphaSwarm uses it to track the latest updates on X and applies them for onchain.

This is super interesting context from a participant (and the one who achieved the BEST productivity gain from AI in coding). I think it is really good evidence of the value of understanding the "jagged frontier" of AI capabilities - to me this is why specialized agents that are.
I was one of the 16 devs in this study. I wanted to speak on my opinions about the causes and mitigation strategies for dev slowdown. I'll say as a "why listen to you?" hook that I experienced a -38% AI-speedup on my assigned issues. I think transparency helps the community.

Literally every time you set up a new iPhone it's a puzzle to get SMS forwarding from your Mac working again. O3 tips not working. Apple support outdated and useless info. Only upgraded b/c my last phone hardware started failing weirdly (Apple "tests" said it was fine).
