My daughter joined a peaceful protest on the lawn of her university today. It turned violent when the state police showed up in riot gear. She and her friends were sprayed with tear gas. Incredibly frustrated that the adults making decisions aren't better at de-escalation. #vcu.

My mother-in-law voted for @BetoORourke. First time she can remember voting for a democrat for gov. Said #GunControl and #Uvalde made it an easy decision since her grandkids are public school students in Texas. Here’s hoping there are lots more voters like her. We can do this.

Last time I checked, more than 90% of children in the state of Texas attend a public school. Amazing how much energy some folks in Austin are spending to invest in private schools via vouchers instead of investing in our public schools where the future of Texas sits today. #txed.

RISD Superintendent Jeannie Stone is expected to resign, just a few months after the district’s board president stepped down suddenly. It’s unclear who will step in to lead the district of ~40,000 students. Stone took over Richardson schools in 2017.#txed.
