This is missing the point. College football is more than the playoff. Removing these teams and suppressing them because they’re not nationally competitive is the issue. College football is about the journey, not the destination.

I have a take: What talking heads don’t understand is that college sports at its core is not about crowning a national champion. It’s about regional pride, beating your rival, and vibes. Those who disagree would be far happier covering the NBA or NFL.

This is—without hyperbole or hesitancy—the worst, most misguided, elitist, and tone-deaf take I have ever heard surrounding college football.
