We’re excited to announce we’ve joined @AccuWeather, the global leader in weather forecasting, to focus on AI for climate. This is an extraordinary opportunity to amplify our impact at planetary scale, and we couldn't have done it without you. Thank you! https://t.co/jWOOCgYJK0

It’s that time of the year: @airstreet’s State of AI report 2025 is live! Late to the party as it’s evening out west already, but can’t wait to dive in. Congrats @nathanbenaich & team on another milestone report.
🪩The one and only @stateofaireport 2025 is live! 🪩 It’s been a monumental 12 months for AI. Our 8th annual report is the most comprehensive it's ever been, covering what you *need* to know about research, industry, politics, safety and our new usage data. My highlight reel:

Very interesting setup: starting from an AR pre-trained model then switching the AR decoder mask to bidirectional diffusion objective midway. Great write-up in the blog and model reports: https://t.co/jytqBMHcoY

So exciting to see scaled up diffusion models coming for natural language! Congrats @exnx and team @RadicalNumerics on releasing RND1: getting language beyond auto-regression as a key step towards recursive self-improving AI.
Introducing RND1, the most powerful base diffusion language model (DLM) to date. RND1 (Radical Numerics Diffusion) is an experimental DLM with 30B params (3B active) with a sparse MoE architecture. We are making it open source, releasing weights, training details, and code to

Meilleur résumé de la situation en France jamais énoncé : « les retraites, c’est la merde. » La *seule* priorité est de régler la bombe à retardement de la répartition, qui va achever le pays. Tout le reste est une distraction.

Based Nobel laureate couldn’t be reached cause he was hiking off the grid. 🙌
His wife suddenly started shouting. He first thought that maybe she had seen a grizzly bear. Instead, she had regained service and had seen a flood of messages. “You just won the Nobel Prize!” she yelled. “No, I didn’t,” said Dr. Ramsdell, whose phone had been on airplane

@tdietterich You can literally talk to a computer in your pocket with immediate access to all the world’s scientific knowledge. If the public can’t figure out what to do with it, what is *their* value proposition to this nation and the world?

Feeling Navier-Stoked for the rumored DeepMind announcement this week! (someone had to do it, sorry 🤓)

This line hits hard. The corollary of “you can just do things” is that someone *has* to do the things, or they simply won’t happen! Another one for the ages, from @owl_posting.

Deciding whether GPUs & power should go toward curing cancer or transforming education is clearly a hard choice. Deciding whether they should do either of those or churn out disposable slop videos doesn’t feel like a hard one.

Community Notes is my favorite product. Usually well written and well sourced, often makes me reconsider a position, and contributing keeps you honest and grounded in facts. The Internet at its best.
something I was completely wrong about: community notes. years ago I assumed there was no way it wouldn't collapse into relentless useless partisanship. today, sure, the system has many problems. but it's the closest we've come to useful moderation on the platform.

Unpopular opinion, but one I absolutely subscribe to as well. Don’t drop out.
When choosing between a top industry job and a top university degree, pick the degree. Jobs will still be there, but the time to explore, gain perspective, and meet totally different people won’t. These years will form the intellectual and social bedrock you’ll rely on for life

Does this control for the age of collaborators and the secular increase in publications? Any result that fits the narrative so closely screams spurious to me.
