A truly temarkable and memorable afternoon. 5hrs flew by as relatives met and saw photos of their dad or grandad together in India and Burma.
Last month 80 people gathered at @VictoryServices to remember their relatives who served in Special Operations Executive (SOE), Burma. @robert_lyman, @richard_duckett and Viscount Slim were there. It was a hugely moving and special event. Each relative was also given a copy of

It was a wonderful afternoon, where for five hours relatives of those who served on Operation Character, Corton, Nation, Manual, and Ramrose got to meet, and relatives of the FANY and staff officers too. All made possible due to the 'Contact' page of my
Relatives from all SOE operations in Burma have formally gathered for the very first time, weeks before the 80th anniversary of VJ Day. They want to ensure the remarkable contribution of the SOE heroes in the ‘Forgotten War’ is always remembered.

I am horrified by how many academics are using AI to summarize research papers and books, not reading them otherwise. Intellectual integrity is meaningful, good-faith engagement with other people's ideas and the experience of learning their ideas on the terms set by the author.
