The guidance signal correctly predicts movements towards the standard planes with 89-91% accuracy as long as the probe is not yet at the standard plane position. For more information, check out the paper at:

We achieve this through a neural network that outputs probe movements towards the standard plane based on the ultrasound video signal and the motion signal from an IMU that is attached to the probe. The network is trained with expert acquisitions through behavioral cloning.

Obstetric ultrasound operators require years of experience until they can effectively find the correct "standard planes" of the fetus. Therefore, we propose an algorithm - trained with thousands of clinical acquisitions - that can guide operators towards these planes.
