If anyone's interested, on 21st Oct I'll be @CSSDLondon talking about Bridgerton + the Atlantic Slave Trade via the work UCL historians did on "absentee ownership" thinking about families like the Bridgertons not as white liberals but global terrorists https://t.co/XCUfRSDVyb

The thing that concerns me as a visibly Muslim hijabi black woman who travels for work is not bumping into a riot, but the casual, random, wanton violence. The stabbing at a train station. Acid in your face by a passing car. That sense that if shit goes down, you’re on your own.

This interview with Imane Khelif highlights the obstacles she faced from patriarchal resistance to women in sport, as well as her family’s poverty. It also underlines her dedication to encouraging young girls in Algeria to participate in sport.

When a woman who does not meet the typical standards of white western ‘femininity’ is visible, powerful, or achieving, she is bullied & accused of being a trans or a man. This is so laughable, coming from so-called liberals who proudly promote feminism, human rights & free speech
Could any picture sum up our new men’s rights movement better? The smirk of a male who’s knows he’s protected by a misogynist sporting establishment enjoying the distress of a woman he’s just punched in the head, and whose life’s ambition he’s just shattered. #Paris2024
