@JLMittelmeier Turns out it's a bit harder than we all expected and I'm maybe naively shocked by the fact that DOIs are paid for, that editorial management software is rarely open access and that universities are not necessarily prepared to front the cost of hosting. So it's taken a while 4/.

@JLMittelmeier With a recent dramatic turn of events in a journal that shall remain unnamed, it became clear that even journals that start out that way don't necessarily stay that way. So we decided to make one! 3/.

@JLMittelmeier There are very few journals in our space (international/global HE, international students, practice, etc) that are truly Open Access - free for authors, free for readers AND good quality. 2/.
