Kids start off without much of a notion of what 'should' be hard or not and seem comfortable with part-knowing things and using whatever bits they know. We'd do well to do more of the same as adults and encourage kids to stick to that worldview for longer.
I really wish the dominant ethos of expository materials was less of "here's why topic X is actually super simple" and more of "you—yes, you!—are capable of understanding difficult things".

Yeah--I grew up thinking the media was the force that would punish politicians for obvious bad behavior. Turns out they actively avoid that if it would make enemies of a major political party.
Republicans really have learned the lesson that they will not face consequences for their misdeeds. This has always been the case, but COVID accelerated it. The media helps them in this regard; For our part, we need to do our best to make sure it doesn't happen this time around.

Software that goes places often has to be very flexible and extensible so it can *fit* those places. Speaking of areas that Google neve made an impact, VSCode wouldn't have gotten where it is without extensions (which likely gave Code devs tons of headaches).

I think the root cause is the same as Google not making Node or Electron before others did--they didn't want an interface with developers' icky non-Web code, and devs needed that, and. that was that, Google's solution was doomed from that point.
It’s been 10 years and I still don’t know a single person who uses a PWA on their phone. Great ideas, great execution, doesn’t matter. Adoption has its own weird kind of magic.
