to the election workers: you clocked in very early this morning and many of you will still be working long after the last voter has voted. many are exhausted from early voting but you're back today for the busiest day of all. there's no democracy without you. we're so grateful.

in total, houston (harris county) voters cast 1,232,960 ballots during the 12-day early voting period (that's in-person + mail). we have 2,693,055 registered voters here. the other 1,460,095 people: polls will be open 7am-7pm on tuesday, election day.
