Welcome to Beth @bethadams21 who has started her @PanoramaDTP PhD in our group at @SoGLeeds and is working at @FeraScience to investigate the fate and behaviour of antimicrobials in the environment. Excited to see how your project progresses🤩
With it being #InternationalStudentsDay today we would like to highlight the important contribution our PhD students’ have in our approach to tackling the issues facing the whole Food System. Here is a photo of Fera new PhDs from #NU & #UOL at our annual Science Symposium.

Great first day in Israel with the @SoGLeeds @wateratleeds team for the e-flows workshop - we spent time in the northern part of the Jordan River Catchment (Hula Valley) and even managed to catch the migratory cranes arriving into Agamon at sunset 🌅

Our new paper, published today in @Nature shows the huge peat carbon stock of the Congo Basin is highly vulnerable to drying. This vital Earth system component must be protected from drainage & resource exploitation @CongoPeat

Nature - Between around 5,000 to 2,000 years ago, a drying climate in the vast peatlands of the Congo Basin triggered peat decomposition and carbon release to the atmosphere, implying that this...

If you like peat, stoichiometry and enthalpy balances, check out this new paper! #peatpaper
New paper - once you account for thermodynamics then CH4 genesis in peats does not result in deep peat formation https://t.co/nmA7Jzd5tE To form deep peat SO4 and DOC are necessary as electron acceptors @DurUniEarthSci @garethdclay @catherinesmoody @forestservice

In anticipation of RBPM bowling on Wednesday, I would like the record to show that I, Elizabeth Mroz, have not been the worst bowler ever this evening. I would also like the record to show that @SedsStringer was twice inferior to me.

For #PostdocAppreciationWeek I want to thank the amazing postdocs in my research group. All fabulous scientists doing incredible work at @SoGLeeds (For future post doc opportunities clearly an ability to climb trees needs to be in the job description 🌳 )

Exciting few days at #BHS2022, was great to see some old faces, meet lots of people, see many talks and have great conversations. Also very pleased with my first couple of posters at a major conference! One has unpublished data so can't share, but hopefully soon to change🤞🦫🌎

I was very shocked & sad to hear this news & will pass it on to colleagues at Leeds where Jo was a PGR & Research Fellow for 8 years. Jo was a talented researcher & it was great to see her career blossom at Reading. She will be a great loss to the soil & water research community
