The fundraiser was a success! We are now releasing 12 prototype builds of Shantae: Risky's Revenge for the DSi, along with a pitch for an unreleased Shantae title - but there's still more to get! The seller has offered 22 additional builds for $500, so we're still raising money.

By contributing the SpotPass data from your 3DS or Wii U systems, we can archive the SpotPass data from many 3DS and Wii U games such as Mario Kart, StreetPass Mii Plaza and Pokémon, and eventually allow them to be used on replacement servers like @PretendoNetwork. (2/3)

SpotPass is a feature on the 3DS and Wii U that allowed Nintendo to distribute data over the internet, such as special event items or characters. When Nintendo shuts down the 3DS and Wii U online servers on April 8, these SpotPass features will be lost - without your help. (1/3)

The recording of the Gekko stream is now up on YouTube! This shows the board at the completion of the BGA swap, it being installed into a retail GameCube, it booting up for the first time, and running the official CPU info tool as well as a retail game.

Since Swiss thinks anything that that doesn't have one of the standard GameCube CPU revisions is a Wii, it identifies this as a Wii

DeadlyFoez has successfully installed an engineering sample Gekko CPU onto a final GameCube board! It boots up, runs games, and the official software for checking the processor's revision identifies it as "DD1.0 or 2.0", with no ID (final is 2.4 and has an ID programmed)

NERD, the division of Nintendo which developed several official emulators including the GC/Wii emulation in 3D All-Stars, has put up a job posting requiring experience in C++ 03, the C++ standard used for Wii and DS/3DS games. It seems Nintendo's working on more Wii/DS emulation.
